General Information

WHY THE CARIBBEAN REGION?

The ABS Initiative convenes activities in the Caribbean countries of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (ACP) at a predominantly regional level and in cooperation with the secretariats of regional organizations, such as the CARICOM (2012-2015) and the OECS (2019 – 2022). The activities are financially supported by the European Union in the context of the cooperation of the EU and the ACP for implementing multilateral environmental treaties.

Aim

The overall aim of the ABS Capacity Development Initiative’s work in the Carribbean is to support the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol in all its dimensions.
